Is There an Elements of Luck in Architecture?

In a complex environment, there are going to be elements of luck. By definition, a complex environment is something that we don't understand and definitely can't control. But there's also the fact that there is no framework. There is no step by step process that we can execute on. Un successful architects learn how to be successful when they're not in control all the time. And if it does happen like that, then you're working with something that's very, very simple.
