The History of the Cathedrals
The reformation is a big national change. It goes along with a lot of secularization. Cathedrals, as i have said, had to go through a period of unpopularity after the reformation. In the eighteenth century, it's their respectable period. They're part of the august apparatus of the state church. And in the nineteenth century, and they have to find new rolls for themselves. Some of these rolls are imposed on them.
