The Death of Inkidu
Inkidu, the real Inkidu, was being eaten by worms in the ground. Gilgamesh had told himself years ago that he was okay with dying, that it happened to all men,. He watched Inkidu struggle in his final days against death, though, and saw how futile it all was. There was only one way to know if there was a time before the Great Flood when someone could live forever on this land. The monster dipped and dove into the cave at the base of the mountain. Winding through, the kingdom would stop before a large, simple wooden door. A creature dropped a big bird Inkidu and flew off, out of the cave.
