How Has Algorithmic Trading Changed Market Structure?
In the old days, when you call your broker, you say, I need to move 300,000 shares of XYZ. You trust that they're not going to stick this into a machine or make a bad phone call and front run you. What happened was the brokers and all their greed, obviously, with help of the exchanges,. They started to create dark pools, right? And with that, we saw the advent of penny trading, so to speak. It's really changed the way that investors behave, getting caught up in the movement of pennies as opposed to quarters...I disagree. I think the impact is you can't measure this. But the impact is I've missed it
