Mao's Disappointment With Chanyit
Mao was devastated when Linbiao's plane crashed in Mongolia. Joe became the communications pipeline between Mao, the leaders, and the military. He put the military on high alert for a possible Soviet attack. When Chanyit died, Mao used this opportunity to try and catch things up with his old comrades.
