The History Plays by Michael Landy
M, evolved in part out of a different project. That was the space in which i came to develop the methodology this book am uses. And that project was an article on a an exhibition at the national gallery in london in two thousand 13 by conceptual artist michael landy. He took apart and put back together mediaeval renaissance ichonography,. mainly about martyrs and martyrdom. So he both created elaborate colages of this, these taken apart paintings. And also, im created three dimensional, operational, self destroying martyr sculptures out of pieces from the collection.
