i spoke with noah kaqueva lincoln, a professor in a department of tropical plant and soil sciences at the university of hawaii. Noah's specialty areas include chemistry, ethnography and archaeology of traditional farming methods. i asked him about the hawaiian concept of kuleana as a combination of both a right to and respect for the environment. He also talked to me about the intrinsic power of stories, an story telling, and the importance of inter disciplinary work on our relationship with the environment.
