Ancient Egyptians also did drawings of the heart, but presumably they were far, far crude. Da Vinci would take that on to a whole new level, right? They were crude, but they were accurate because the Egyptians actually held hearts in their hands. The only descriptions we have of the shape of the heart were from people like Aristotle, Hippocrates, Galen.
