The Repression in the West Country

The repression that swept over the west country in the wake of this rising is something which I have found quite shocking at times. A document from Exeter for example has a very sort of grim entry in it about a payment made for the erection of the first set of gallows after the rebels are defeated. In Plymouth came across a list of payments made to a group of carpenters for setting up what was obviously a very elaborate gallowsVery fast indeed just after the rebellions been suppressed that's obviously to hang lots of people also although there's not much evidence about this it's fairly evident.
