The Relationship Between the Crusader States and Western Europe
The composition of the Frankish population in the Crusader states changes a lot over time. Initially, a very, very large proportion of the Crusaders were from the Kingdom of France. Places like the Kingdom of England weren't particularly that well represented. For the most part in the 12th century, it's the French who predominate. In the early 13th century, there's a much stronger German presence. And I've always thought the Italian presence probably expanded steadily over time up until ultimate fall of the Crusader states in 1291.
