The Consensus of the Left
I hate these ways of dividing up reality, it is happening across this red, blue divide and this urban rural divide. I have found that people in the hinterland, in the heartland of this country, instinctively understand that faster and more readily than people in New York and San Francisco. People in kind of red places, that didn't strike them as a lefty argument. I think that strikes them as like something deeply resonant with their experience of the last 30 or 40 years. There's obviously huge disagreement on what the transformational reform is. But I actually still think it's very significant that we have, a consensus for deep system reform.
