The Importance of Margaret Thatcher in the 1980s
How deep a scar did the miners strike leave on the nation? I guess that question really depends on where you are. It destroyed communities in different ways, there were different experiences between different regions. The opposition's problem was that it really did focus on Thatcher and became kind of anti-faturism. There's a bit of a void perhaps in terms of thinking what Labour actually stood for.
