Charlie Ellis: The loser's game has a fascinating history, both where it came from and where it went. He says the hero of the story is Simon Ramow, who was the founder of what was called Thompson Ramow Woolridge before becoming TRW. "The game we play is the game not to lose," he writes in an article published in 1975 for the Financial Analyst Journal.
