The Issue of DC Voting Rights

I think the issue in that case is DC voting rights and DC independence. I'm troubled by the notion that Congress or the president can override an act of the District of Columbia government. And so mayors have to strike the right balance of investing in communities, as well as trying to embark on a system of intelligent and effective policing. It's not just about more. It's about effective, but you've got to do all of the other things as well.
