The House Freedom Caucus - Is Kevin McCarthy the Speaker of the House?
The 19 Republicans who voted against Kevin McCarthy run the gamut in certain ways. A lot of them are members of the Alter Conservative House Freedom Caucus, which thwarted McCarthy's first bid for speaker back in 2015. The thing that unites these 19 is that at least for now they don't wantKevin McCarthy to become the speaker. But again, there are so many different dynamics here that winning over all of these people will be very difficult.
