Abraham Lincoln's Principled Leadership
John Avlon: Abraham Lincoln at the beginning of 1864 was projected not only to lose reelection, but many people believed he wouldn't even win the Republican nomination. He says it wasn't until Grant moved on Atlanta and then moved across Georgia that that victory was assured. Avlon: There are few routes in American history. There are few clean victories. Just enough people doing the right thing at just the right time makes a difference.
