The Death of Edward II
There are many competing theories as to what happens to Edward II. Ian Mortimer and others have argued that he doesn't die, but lives out of life on the continent before dying in 1340s. I find it difficult ultimately to deviate from the traditional narrative, not because the new interpretation doesn't have much to commend it, but because neither is conclusive. There may well be a killer piece of evidence out there somewhere that proves it either way.
