The Evolution of Transitional Fossils
Darwin predicted for instance that transitional fossils would be found in Africa between humans and apes if they existed. We did not find those first transitional fossils until the early 1900s with Australopithecians discovered in Africa. So we have tectolic which is a transition between fish and amphibians, ichthyostego which is a transitional fossil because it has features of both. Whales evolved from animals that are very much like small deer with hooves, ariodactyls with sort of even turd animals. And we see things that are transitional between land animals and whales.
