Cirene - A Mediterranean Odyssey
Cirene was once one of the largest and most prosperous cities in the mediterranean. A vicious civil war erupted within the city as oligarchs and democrats struggled for supremacy. Exiled, some fugitives fled north across the mediterranean to cidonia on crete. It was they who turned to thibrone, seeking a swift return to sirene's shores. The possibility of controlling sirene was too tantalizing a prize to refuse. He declared himself their saviour, their champion, the man who would restore them by the spear if necessary.
