Introduction

This episode of the Orthobolids Podcast will go over the topic of Achilles tendonitis. Insertional Achilles tendonitis is pain and tendon thickening at the insertion of the Achilles tendon. It occurs in middle-aged and elderly patients with a tight heel cord. repetitive trauma leads to inflammation followed by cartilaginous then bony metoplasia. Surgical management is indicated in patients with progressive symptoms who fail conservative management.
