The Obama Clean Power Plan and the Coal Industry
In the long run, if the Obama Clean Power Plan were to be fully implemented, it would be a death knell for the coal industry. The plan actually hasn't been implemented yet; it's been stayed by the Supreme Court. This battle became so ideological. They were the Environmental Protection Agency putting forth regulations on the entire energy economy and for the cause of climate change. These were also the Obama administration's offering to the rest of the world in forging a global warming accord.
