What's Going on at the French Side?
The French at this start were quite keen to protect the villages and cities against Arabic. And it's the same with their proposals to an empowered position of irregulars, including spies. They also sort of toned down that proposal a little bit in 48 to 49. So they have to think about themselves no longer as just having suffered during the Nazi occupation but also as an ally in the Cold War together with the United States and Great Britain.
