I came into the book with maybe a little bit more of a hot take about the dangers of work's interest and how our culture in the US has become obsessed with work. I think there's this inclination especially when we're thinking about careers and work to either lionize or villainize our jobs. The truth is not on either extreme. It's something in the middle. How do you pursue meaningful work without letting what you do for work subsume who you are? And so I think that's the best case that I can make for any potential readers is it's a book that is a mirror.
