We believed for about a century that once a memory is formed, it's fixed and can't be changed. Recent studies have upended our assumptions about the process of consolidating memories. There has been some encouraging evidence in clinical population trying to block restorages of traumatic memories. But from a scientific point of view, it's still too few.
