The Green River Killer
The case of Vancouver's missing and murdered women is eerily similar to another serial murderer we've covered on our show. Gary Ridgeway, also known as the Green River Killer is responsible for the deaths of 45 women throughout the 80s and 90s. Just like in the Picton case, the police had Ridgeway pegged for these crimes as far back as like 1983. But there was never enough evidence to charge him let alone convict. So it wasn't until 2001, after decades of advances in DNA technology that police were able to get their guy.
