Gates has been out of Microsoft in most official capacities since 2020 when he left the board. Sam Altman and the open AI team essentially had to win him over in this like presentation at Bill Gates's house. They showed off basically a version of the kind of chatbot that we all saw, but it was with the more advanced technology behind GPT-4. Dina: I'm so glad Bill Gates was like in it from the get go.
