The Importance of Embedded Programming
We couldn't use something like Windows to piggyback on its polling. We had to design our own polling mechanism, which is the while one loop. There's other things like events, but embedded programming events isn't the biggest drivers. It really is a polling infrastructure because you need it so quickly. You can't have a 10 minute delay on rendering whether the door opened of your car when someone's trying to steal it.
