Appleflad and the Lady of the Mercians

In 916 an abbot edgbert and his companions were killed near breccan and south wales. This does not sit well with appleflad at all the abbot was presumably a connection of hers. Three days after learning that edgbert had been murdered appleflad sends an army into whales and storms the Welsh kings keep. She captures the Welsh queen and takes her and over 30 members of the royal retinue hostage.
