The Judean Revolt of the Roman Empire

In English, the word Jew carries connotations that are unhelpful for understanding what was actually going on in the 1st century AD. The Judeans rebel for reasons that I think are really nothing to do with what today we would call religion. Essentially, it's because they're over taxed. Rome has been destroyed in a fire under Nero. He therefore sends out blood sucking tax raises to screw as much money out of the various provincial as he can. For various happenstance reasons, the Judeans do rebel against this.
