The White Lotus Uprising in Shandong
The most serious uprising involving the members of the White Lotus Society occurred in 1622. At its peak, shoes revolt affected parts of Shandong, Beijali, Nanjali and at least five other provinces. It may well have been the most serious internal threat to the dynasty's security since the rebellion of the Prince of Ning nearly a century earlier.
