The way that the way we access music changed over the decade. How does young people understand the world through the music they listen to and how do they get their ideas about the world from it? The frisson between individual and collective identities and experience I think music is a great way into those experiences. A lot of stuff that had no business being together so established musicians like status quo or queen who really embraced the 80s.
