The Role of the Pell Institute for the Study of Opportunity in Higher Education
Pell Institute is named after Senator Clayborn Pell, who served in the U.S. Senate from 1961 to 1997. At Pell, we're focused on using research to bring clarity to questions of equity, especially as it pertains to first-generation and low-income students. We really want to serve as an information source for policymakers and practitioners through the production of high-quality, rigorous research and policy analysis that is user-friendly and accessible.
