The Most Important Changes to Canada's Chemicals Management Law

The bill would split CPA's current schedule one list of toxic substances into two parts. Part one would contain the most toxic substances, and they would be prioritized for prohibition. Part two then would be substances that would see a focus on pollution and risk prevention. S5 would also bring changes for chemical assessments. It would require consideration of cumulative risks for multiple substances as well as how substances might affect vulnerable populations.
