The Different Worlds of Gay Characters
I love that there's so many LGBT characters on TV and in films, it just creates a much more rich tapestry of stories. It humanises us so that people can be pleased to see us rather than threatened by us on the tube,. But it's definitely an older generation problem. They didn't grow up with it, it was illegal. I've said this many times that my granddad was probably gay, but couldn't be. There's a different world for them. And so, you know, regardless of whether he's been too lazy to take it off, when they see a man on the tube with nail varnish on, they just can’t.
