The Wage Share of the National Income in a Capitalist Economy?
The wage share of the national income is a measure of how much workers are able to get out of the system. The ratio of compensation to labor over the total national income is the wage share, right? It's the chunk of the value of what's produced that is being paid out to workers for their labor. And so if you look at the wage share over time, you can sort of get a sense, I think, of how strong labor is because you get a sense of how much they're able to claim back in wages.
