Religion and Superstition in Britain in the Victorian Period
Most people in britain in this period would have been peasant farmers. They probably worried most about getting through the coming seasons ahead. For signs of divine approval, like a lack of attack and discord, that was a sign of things going well for them. The conversion of ar probably all of britain, was at least theoreticl complete by the seventh century. There weren't nearly as many churches in the landscape as there are nowadays. It was something that people saw was actually quite a sort of bargaining char. And they were fairly quickly conversed as well er, but they werent very assiduous questions.
