The History of the Bronze Serpent

We have no idea what its history was. Hasekiah destroyed it because it had become an object of idolatry. We don't know how that was marketed to the people if it even really needed to be marketed. To many, this would have been a symbol of Yahweh. And so in the minds of even a good Yahweh worshipper, this was a special thing. So when this happens, that's going to have an effect on people. It's going to become an ordinary object.
