Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome
Tarsal tunnel syndrome is impingement of the tibial nerve, often associated with adult acquired flat foot and plantar fasciitis. Diagnosis is largely clinical but should be supplemented with MRI or ultrasound to rule out any compressive lesions. Electrodiagnostic studies are of questionable utility. Non-surgical management should always be exhausted first, followed by complete neural lysis if this fail.
