There's Nothing That Could Trigger a General Election

There is nothing that would actually have to trigger a general election. A Conservative MP suggests it might end up being the Labour party putting down a vote of no confidence in Liz Truss. That could potentially push the House of Commons to a point where nobody there was able to form a government. At that point they would have to go to the king and suggest a dissolving parliament. There has to be a general election but there's also the possibility that we don't have one either.
