How Do Trend Following Strategies Work?

Samuel: I like to think of it statistically and mathematically. If you were to really cut down the data on my monthly performances, yes, there's a lot of winning months and losing months. It's about 50-50 actually and that's what was expected when I created the system. Like heads we're going to win $2, tails you're going to lose $1. That's a game you want to keep playing for as long as you can. And you want to be in the markets every month. Sam says he wish markets were open on weekends. He wants to trade the system for literally as long as possible.
