The Relationship Between the Crusader States and the Early Modernists
The crusader states were not known as the crusader states at the time. They may have been founded by crusaders, but the people who lived in them weren't necessarily crusaders. So there's no good term really for these territories or countries created by the first crusade. For me at least I prefer crusader states because at least it's fairly clear what you're talking about.
