Food Yeast - A Case Study
Yeast is used as so-called food yeast in the British Imperial context but then also in the early history of international health. It's used by international organizations such as the LN HO to combat nutrition maln, excuse me malnutrition on the one hand, and the tendency that it embodied to reduce the problem of combating hunger to just a narrowly technical one. There has already been quite a bit of research into yeast as a possible source of concentrated nourishment and protein. And I thought this was really fascinating because for me it also ties together some of the innovations in public relations PR, what was rather less disingenuously called propaganda.
