The Role of Magic in Academic Life
There does seem to be a kind of a weird moment, you know, something of a magical revival going on right now. Gary Lockman apparently is soon coming out with a book where he's arguing that the presiding spirit of that magical revival is Donald Trump. But at the same time, and some of the less lovely aspects of academic life, grandstanding and you know, trying to enforce consensus. I get the sense that there's a kind of an opening up, like a fresh way, like there's a draft gone in somehow.
