Moral Transformation Theory of Atonement
In the twelfth century, peter abelard, he rejected to this idea of cruelty in prevailing views of the atonement. He wanted to emphasize its effects on human hearts. Anda the crucifixion, he said, demonstrated the depth of god's love for humanity. When we really experience this love, when we feel it, it changes us, and it inspires in us gratitude and a desire to live a godly life.
