How to Handle Difficult Conversations
The best way to handle the a difficult conversation is to have the difficult conversation. Backing up one way coaches can set themselves up for success, i would ask each of our new members of the program to write a letter of recommendation before they arrived on campus. And so at any point during their tenure in your program, if their behavior is out of alignment with who they said they want to be, you can go ahead and pull that letter out and check in.
