The Mongol Field Army in Syria and Khan
Mongols have suffered defeats in the past that has happened there's people at Jalal al-Din were able to inflict individual defeats in the Mongols. But those defeats were nearly always one-offs and so normally the person who had been victorious against them was submerged by a massive wave of attacks immediately afterwards. This is all important background to what happens in 1260 because the Mongol field army goes into northern Syria and Khan because Aleppo and it does so at full strength. We're looking at an army here of probably around a hundred thousand troops. So they do sound very large in terms of total numbers but actually they need to be taken seriously.
