The Importance of Equity in Higher Education
The Pell Institute regularly releases reports of indicators of higher education equity in the U.S. The most pressing one is that students from high-income families are about five times more likely than students from poor families to attain a college degree by age 24. College success is still likely dictated by factors that students can't control their family background and socioeconomic status.
