The author came to the story first through an essay that i found entirely by accident when i was looking through an anthology for something else. There are a number of other memoirs by other prisoners at yosgad camp from that time which corroborated some of these outlandish seeming details. And again, jones and hill were very, very smart; they very rarely made any mistakes because they planned and trouble shooted very carefully.
