The Gambia's Debt Distress
The African Development Bank has said that the Gambia possesses a risk of debt distress owing to what you just mentioned earlier. You know, it's a fall in exports and a rise in imports. So a lot of foreign currency needed. But we have noticed from 2017-2018 upward, the government of the Gambia has said that it's locally funded a lot of pet projects. Sometimes political expediency overshadows economic rationale. And when that happens is the grass that suffers and in this case the average Gambia.
