What Does a Metaphor Add to a Concept?
A metaphor is when we understand one thing in terms of another, which sounds so simple that it's almost like why bother saying it. Most of our metaphors are at some level grounded in our embodied experience of the world. And most of when we talk about abstract things, we talk about them in terms of this directionality and bodies. We do this a lot with programming in the internet, because you know, programming is inherently metaphorical. But I find especially with withprogramming in the web, we have to rely on them A LOT.
